| Common Name | N-Isobutyl-2,4,8-decatrienamide |
|---|
| Description | N-Isobutyl-2,4,8-decatrienamide, also known as 2,4,8-decatrienoic acid isobutylamide, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as n-acyl amines. N-acyl amines are compounds containing a fatty acid moiety linked to an amine group through an ester linkage. N-Isobutyl-2,4,8-decatrienamide is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, N-Isobutyl-2,4,8-decatrienamide has been detected, but not quantified in, herbs and spices. This could make N-isobutyl-2,4,8-decatrienamide a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
