DescriptionAporpinone B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as butenolides. These are dihydrofurans with a carbonyl group at the C2 carbon atom. (5e)-5-[1-hydroxy-4-(oxiran-2-yl)but-3-yn-2-ylidene]furan-2-one is found in Elmerina caryae. It was first documented in 2011 (PMID: 21477823). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Aporpinone B.
