Description9Beta,20-dihydroxyecdysone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydroxy bile acids, alcohols and derivatives. These are bile acids, alcohols or derivatives bearing at least hydroxyl group. (1s,3as,5ar,7r,8s,9as,9br,11ar)-3a,7,8,9b-tetrahydroxy-9a,11a-dimethyl-1-[(2r,3s)-2,3,6-trihydroxy-6-methylheptan-2-yl]-1h,2h,3h,5ah,6h,7h,8h,9h,10h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-5-one is found in Silene italica. (1s,3as,5ar,7r,8s,9as,9br,11ar)-3a,7,8,9b-tetrahydroxy-9a,11a-dimethyl-1-[(2r,3s)-2,3,6-trihydroxy-6-methylheptan-2-yl]-1h,2h,3h,5ah,6h,7h,8h,9h,10h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-5-one was first documented in 2004 (PMID: 15219788). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 9beta,20-dihydroxyecdysone.
