Common Name5,11-dihydroxy-6-[(4-hydroxy-3-iodophenyl)methyl]-3-(1-hydroxyethyl)-7,9,12,14,16,18-hexamethyl-1-oxa-4,7,10-triazacyclooctadeca-4,10,14-triene-2,8-dione
Description5,11-Dihydroxy-6-[(4-hydroxy-3-iodophenyl)methyl]-3-(1-hydroxyethyl)-7,9,12,14,16,18-hexamethyl-1-oxa-4,7,10-triazacyclooctadeca-4,10,14-triene-2,8-dione belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpene saponins. These are glycosylated derivatives of triterpene sapogenins. The sapogenin moiety backbone is usually based on the oleanane, ursane, taraxastane, bauerane, lanostane, lupeol, lupane, dammarane, cycloartane, friedelane, hopane, 9b,19-cyclo-lanostane, cycloartane, or cycloartanol skeleton. 5,11-Dihydroxy-6-[(4-hydroxy-3-iodophenyl)methyl]-3-(1-hydroxyethyl)-7,9,12,14,16,18-hexamethyl-1-oxa-4,7,10-triazacyclooctadeca-4,10,14-triene-2,8-dione is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
