Description | 1-(Acetyloxy)-1-[5-(acetyloxy)-4-[3,7-bis(acetyloxy)-2,6,6,10-tetramethylpentacyclo[12.3.1.0¹,¹⁴.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰]Octadecan-15-yl]oxolan-2-yl]-2-methylpropan-2-yl acetate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as limonoids. These are highly oxygenated, modified terpenoids with a prototypical structure either containing or derived from a precursor with a 4,4,8-trimethyl-17-furanylsteroid skeleton. All naturally occurring citrus limonoids contain a furan ring attached to the D-ring, at C-17, as well as oxygen containing functional groups at C-3, C-4, C-7, C-16 and C-17. 1-(acetyloxy)-1-[5-(acetyloxy)-4-[3,7-bis(acetyloxy)-2,6,6,10-tetramethylpentacyclo[12.3.1.0¹,¹⁴.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰]octadecan-15-yl]oxolan-2-yl]-2-methylpropan-2-yl acetate is found in Guarea jamaicensis. 1-(Acetyloxy)-1-[5-(acetyloxy)-4-[3,7-bis(acetyloxy)-2,6,6,10-tetramethylpentacyclo[12.3.1.0¹,¹⁴.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰]Octadecan-15-yl]oxolan-2-yl]-2-methylpropan-2-yl acetate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
