Natural Product Identification
Common Name3-({6-[({3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4-[(3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl)oxy]oxan-2-yl}oxy)methyl]-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl}oxy)-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)chromen-4-one
Description3-({6-[({3,5-Dihydroxy-6-methyl-4-[(3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl)oxy]oxan-2-yl}oxy)methyl]-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl}oxy)-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyrroloindoles. Pyrroloindoles are compounds containing a pyrroloindole moiety, which is a tricyclic heterocycle which consists of a pyrrole ring fused to an indole. Pyrrole is 5-membered ring consisting of four carbon atoms and one nitrogen atom. Indole is a bicyclic compound consisting of a six-membered benzene ring fused to a five-membered nitrogen-containing pyrrole ring. 3-({6-[({3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4-[(3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl)oxy]oxan-2-yl}oxy)methyl]-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl}oxy)-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)chromen-4-one is found in Astragalus caprinus. 3-({6-[({3,5-Dihydroxy-6-methyl-4-[(3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl)oxy]oxan-2-yl}oxy)methyl]-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxan-2-yl}oxy)-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
