DescriptionBakkenolide D belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene lactones. These are prenol lipids containing a lactone ring. (2r,3r,3ar,4s,7s,7ar)-3-(acetyloxy)-7,7a-dimethyl-4'-methylidene-2'-oxo-hexahydro-1h-spiro[indene-2,3'-oxolan]-4-yl (2z)-3-(methylsulfanyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Petasites japonicus. It was first documented in 2011 (PMID: 20625987). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Bakkenolide D (PMID: 32532086) (PMID: 23723093).
