Description1-[(4-Hydroxyphenyl)methyl]-4-methoxyphenanthrene-2,7-diol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phenanthrols. Phenanthrols are compounds containing a phenanthrene (or its hydrogenated derivative) to which a hydroxyl group is attached. 1-[(4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl]-4-methoxyphenanthrene-2,7-diol is found in Bletilla formosana, Bletilla striata and Gymnadenia conopsea. 1-[(4-Hydroxyphenyl)methyl]-4-methoxyphenanthrene-2,7-diol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
