Description28-Homotyphasterol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as stigmastanes and derivatives. These are sterol lipids with a structure based on the stigmastane skeleton, which consists of a cholestane moiety bearing an ethyl group at the carbon atom C24. (1r,3as,3bs,5as,7r,9ar,9bs,11as)-1-[(2s,3r,4r,5s)-5-ethyl-3,4-dihydroxy-6-methylheptan-2-yl]-7-hydroxy-9a,11a-dimethyl-tetradecahydrocyclopenta[a]phenanthren-5-one was first documented in 2015 (PMID: 25433632). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 28-Homotyphasterol (PMID: 27965691).
