Description(22E)-5alpha,6alpha-Epoxyergosta-7,22-diene-3beta-ol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as ergostane steroids. These are steroids with a structure based on the ergostane skeleton, which arises from the methylation of cholestane at the 24-position. (1s,2r,5s,7r,9s,12r,15r,16r)-15-[(2r,3e,5r)-5,6-dimethylhept-3-en-2-yl]-2,16-dimethyl-8-oxapentacyclo[9.7.0.0²,⁷.0⁷,⁹.0¹²,¹⁶]octadec-10-en-5-ol is found in Ophiocordyceps sinensis. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (22E)-5alpha,6alpha-Epoxyergosta-7,22-diene-3beta-ol.
