Description(5S,6R,8S,8aS)-5-[2-(acetyloxy)propan-2-yl]-3,8-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,2,4,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydroazulen-6-yl (2Z)-2-methylbut-2-enoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as guaianes. These are sesquiterpenoids with a structure based on the guaiane skeleton. Guaiane is a bicyclic compound consisting of a decahydroazulene moiety, substituted with two methyl groups and a 1-methylethyl group at the 1-, 4-, and 7-position, respectively. (3as,4s,6r,7s)-7-[2-(acetyloxy)propan-2-yl]-1,4-dimethyl-2-oxo-3a,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-3h-azulen-6-yl (2z)-2-methylbut-2-enoate is found in Ulmus davidiana. It was first documented in 2022 (PMID: 36130844). Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on (5S,6R,8S,8aS)-5-[2-(acetyloxy)propan-2-yl]-3,8-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,2,4,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydroazulen-6-yl (2Z)-2-methylbut-2-enoate (PMID: 36130843) (PMID: 36130842) (PMID: 36130841) (PMID: 36130840).
