| Common Name | methyl 2-[13-(furan-3-yl)-6,6,9,12-tetramethyl-17-methylidene-5,15-dioxo-2,14-dioxatetracyclo[7.7.1.0¹,¹².0³,⁸]heptadecan-7-yl]acetate |
|---|
| Description | Methyl 2-[13-(furan-3-yl)-6,6,9,12-tetramethyl-17-methylidene-5,15-dioxo-2,14-dioxatetracyclo[7.7.1.0¹,¹².0³,⁸]Heptadecan-7-yl]acetate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as limonoids. These are highly oxygenated, modified terpenoids with a prototypical structure either containing or derived from a precursor with a 4,4,8-trimethyl-17-furanylsteroid skeleton. All naturally occurring citrus limonoids contain a furan ring attached to the D-ring, at C-17, as well as oxygen containing functional groups at C-3, C-4, C-7, C-16 and C-17. methyl 2-[13-(furan-3-yl)-6,6,9,12-tetramethyl-17-methylidene-5,15-dioxo-2,14-dioxatetracyclo[7.7.1.0¹,¹².0³,⁸]heptadecan-7-yl]acetate is found in Xylocarpus granatum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on methyl 2-[13-(furan-3-yl)-6,6,9,12-tetramethyl-17-methylidene-5,15-dioxo-2,14-dioxatetracyclo[7.7.1.0¹,¹².0³,⁸]Heptadecan-7-yl]acetate. |
