DescriptionGentiside C belongs to the class of organic compounds known as m-hydroxybenzoic acid esters. These are benzoic acid esters where the benzene ring is meta-substituted with a hydroxy group. (14s)-14-methylhexadecyl 2,3-dihydroxybenzoate is found in Gentiana rigescens. (14s)-14-methylhexadecyl 2,3-dihydroxybenzoate was first documented in 2010 (PMID: 20813533). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Gentiside C.
