Description6-Oxo-2-(prop-1-en-1-yl)-3,6-dihydro-2H-pyran-3-yl 2-methyloctanoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as dihydropyranones. Dihydropyranones are compounds containing a hydrogenated pyran ring which bears a ketone, and contains one double bond. 6-oxo-2-(prop-1-en-1-yl)-2,3-dihydropyran-3-yl 2-methyloctanoate is found in Larix laricina. 6-Oxo-2-(prop-1-en-1-yl)-3,6-dihydro-2H-pyran-3-yl 2-methyloctanoate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
