| Description | RORIDIN P belongs to the class of organic compounds known as trichothecenes. These are sesquiterpene mycotoxins structurally characterized by the presence of an epoxide ring and a benzopyran derivative with a variant number of hydroxyl, acetyl, or other substituents. The most important structural features causing the biological activities of trichothecenes are the 12,13-epoxy ring, the presence of hydroxyl or acetyl groups at appropriate positions on the trichothecene nucleus and the structure and position of the side-chain. (1'r,3'r,8'r,12'z,19'z,21'z,25'r,26's)-18'-hydroxy-5',13',17',26'-tetramethyl-2',10',16',24'-tetraoxaspiro[oxirane-2,27'-tetracyclo[23.2.1.0³,⁸.0⁸,²⁶]octacosane]-4',12',19',21'-tetraene-11',23'-dione is found in Paramyrothecium roridum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on RORIDIN P. |
