Description3-Hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-1,2,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydronaphthalen-1-yl)propan-1-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as beta-hydroxy ketones. These are ketones containing a hydroxyl group attached to the beta-carbon atom, relative to the C=O group. 3-hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-4a,5,6,7,8,8a-hexahydro-1h-naphthalen-1-yl)propan-1-one is found in Penicillium thomii. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 3-hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-1,2,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydronaphthalen-1-yl)propan-1-one.
