Common Name2-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-6-[(2r,5z)-5-[(2e)-2-methyl-3-(4-nitrophenyl)prop-2-en-1-ylidene]oxolan-2-yl]pyran-4-one
DescriptionMycolutein, also known as alloaureothin, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as nitrobenzenes. Nitrobenzenes are compounds containing a nitrobenzene moiety, which consists of a benzene ring with a carbon bearing a nitro group. 2-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-6-[(2r,5z)-5-[(2e)-2-methyl-3-(4-nitrophenyl)prop-2-en-1-ylidene]oxolan-2-yl]pyran-4-one is found in Streptomyces thioluteus. 2-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-6-[(2r,5z)-5-[(2e)-2-methyl-3-(4-nitrophenyl)prop-2-en-1-ylidene]oxolan-2-yl]pyran-4-one was first documented in 1995 (PMID: 7780576). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Mycolutein.
