Common Name(2r,3s,4s,5r)-2-butoxy-2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)oxolane-3,4-diol
DescriptionButyl fructofuranoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as c-glycosyl compounds. These are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a C-glycosidic bond. (2r,3s,4s,5r)-2-butoxy-2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)oxolane-3,4-diol is found in Cynomorium songaricum, Dioscorea japonica and Ophiopogon japonicus. (2r,3s,4s,5r)-2-butoxy-2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)oxolane-3,4-diol was first documented in 2014 (PMID: 24550588). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Butyl fructofuranoside (PMID: 30132317).
