| Description | Vulgarone A belongs to the class of organic compounds known as bicyclic monoterpenoids. These are monoterpenoids containing exactly 2 rings, which are fused to each other. Vulgarone A is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, vulgarone a has been detected, but not quantified in, herbs and spices. 2,6,6,9-tetramethyltricyclo[5.4.0.0²,¹⁰]undec-8-en-11-one is found in Artemisia douglasiana. This could make vulgarone a a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
