DescriptionMethyl alpha-D-fructofuranoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as c-glycosyl compounds. These are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a C-glycosidic bond. (2s,3s,4s,5r)-2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)-2-methoxyoxolane-3,4-diol is found in Brachystemma calycinum, Morinda citrifolia, Turnera diffusa and Vaccinium myrtillus. It was first documented in 2002 (PMID: 31593387). Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on methyl alpha-D-fructofuranoside (PMID: 15844957) (PMID: 21761727) (PMID: 29772948) (PMID: 29683369).
