These are phenolic compounds containing one anthocyanidin moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to a carbohydrate moiety at the C5-position. cyanin betaine is found in Allium schoenoprasum, Amelanchier bartramiana, Canistrum cyathiforme, Cyclamen persicum, Erythrina addisoniae, Geranium sylvaticum, Koenigia coriaria, Oenothera affinis, Oenothera odorata, Paeonia suffruticosa, Penstemon labrosus, Perilla frutescens, Phaseolus vulgaris, Puya dyckioides, Rhaponticum carthamoides, Rhododendron simsii, Sambucus canadensis and Vigna angularis. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on cyanin betaine.
