Description5-Dehydro-8-epi-mussaenoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. methyl (1s,7r,7as)-7-hydroxy-7-methyl-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,6h,7ah-cyclopenta[c]pyran-4-carboxylate is found in Wendlandia tinctoria. methyl (1s,7r,7as)-7-hydroxy-7-methyl-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,6h,7ah-cyclopenta[c]pyran-4-carboxylate was first documented in 2006 (PMID: 16819225). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5-Dehydro-8-epi-mussaenoside.
