Description6-[(Acetyloxy)methyl]-4,5-dihydroxy-2-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl octadecanoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as acyltrehaloses. These are lipids containing a trehalose molecule linked to at least one fatty acid through an ester bond. 6-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-4,5-dihydroxy-2-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl octadecanoate is found in Symbiotaphrina lignicola. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 6-[(acetyloxy)methyl]-4,5-dihydroxy-2-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl octadecanoate.
