Description5-(2-Hydroxy-5-methoxy-3-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)-1,4a-dimethyl-6-methylidene-decahydronaphthalene-1-carboxylic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as diterpenoids. These are terpene compounds formed by four isoprene units. 5-(2-hydroxy-5-methoxy-3-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)-1,4a-dimethyl-6-methylidene-hexahydro-2h-naphthalene-1-carboxylic acid is found in Chloranthus spicatus. 5-(2-Hydroxy-5-methoxy-3-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)-1,4a-dimethyl-6-methylidene-decahydronaphthalene-1-carboxylic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
