Description2-[(2S,3E,4R)-3-ethylidene-5-(methoxycarbonyl)-2-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-4-yl]acetic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as terpene glycosides. These are prenol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically bound to a terpene backbone. [(2s,3e,4r)-3-ethylidene-5-(methoxycarbonyl)-2-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-2,4-dihydropyran-4-yl]acetic acid is found in Fraxinus americana. It was first documented in 2002 (PMID: 31593387). Based on a literature review a significant number of articles have been published on 2-[(2S,3E,4R)-3-ethylidene-5-(methoxycarbonyl)-2-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-4-yl]acetic acid (PMID: 27253005) (PMID: 27583328) (PMID: 36127157) (PMID: 36127156).
