Description2-Hydroxy-N-(1,3,5,6-tetrahydroxyoctacos-9-en-2-yl)octadecanimidic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as ceramides. These are lipid molecules containing a sphingosine in which the amine group is linked to a fatty acid. 2-hydroxy-n-(1,3,5,6-tetrahydroxyoctacos-9-en-2-yl)octadecanimidic acid is found in Lonicera japonica. 2-Hydroxy-N-(1,3,5,6-tetrahydroxyoctacos-9-en-2-yl)octadecanimidic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
