| Description | Helinorbisabone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as aromatic monoterpenoids. These are monoterpenoids containing at least one aromatic ring. Helinorbisabone is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Helinorbisabone has been detected, but not quantified in, fats and oils. (3e)-6-(2,5-dihydroxy-4-methylphenyl)-5-hydroxyhept-3-en-2-one is found in Helianthus annuus. This could make helinorbisabone a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
