These are benzoquinones where the two C=O groups are attached at the 1- and 4-positions, respectively. 2-methoxy-6-pentadecylcyclohexa-2,5-diene-1,4-dione is found in Ardisia virens and Iris pseudacorus. 2-Methoxy-6-pentadecylcyclohexa-2,5-diene-1,4-dione is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
