Description2,3-Dihydro-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5,6,7-trimethoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one, also known as 4'-hydroxy-5,6,7-trimethoxyflavanone, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 7-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C7 atom of the flavonoid backbone. Thus, 2,3-dihydro-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5,6,7-trimethoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one is considered to be a flavonoid lipid molecule. A methoxyflavanone that is flavanone substituted by methoxy groups at positions 5, 6 and 7 and a hydroxy group at position 4'. 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5,6,7-trimethoxy-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Chromolaena odorata. 2,3-Dihydro-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5,6,7-trimethoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
