Description3-[(7-Ethenyl-1,4a,7-trimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,4b,5,6,7,8,10,10a-dodecahydrophenanthren-1-yl)methoxy]-4,7-dimethyl-octahydrocyclopenta[c]pyran-1-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as diterpene lactones. These are diterpenoids containing a lactone moiety. 3-[(7-ethenyl-1,4a,7-trimethyl-3,4,4b,5,6,8,10,10a-octahydro-2h-phenanthren-1-yl)methoxy]-4,7-dimethyl-hexahydro-3h-cyclopenta[c]pyran-1-one is found in Nepeta tuberosa. 3-[(7-Ethenyl-1,4a,7-trimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,4b,5,6,7,8,10,10a-dodecahydrophenanthren-1-yl)methoxy]-4,7-dimethyl-octahydrocyclopenta[c]pyran-1-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
