These are amino acids in which the amino group is attached to the carbon atom immediately adjacent to the carboxylate group (alpha carbon), or a derivative thereof. 4-bromo-n-[3-(5-hydroxy-2-imino-3h-imidazol-4-ylidene)propyl]-1h-pyrrole-2-carboxamide is found in Agelas nakamurai. 4-Bromo-N-[3-(4-hydroxy-2-imino-2,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-5-ylidene)propyl]-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxamide is a strong basic compound (based on its pKa).
