Description3-(Hexadeca-7,9,11-trien-1-yl)-4-hydroxy-5-methylidene-2,5-dihydrofuran-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as butenolides. These are dihydrofurans with a carbonyl group at the C2 carbon atom. 3-(hexadeca-7,9,11-trien-1-yl)-4-hydroxy-5-methylidenefuran-2-one is found in Xanthoselinum alsaticum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 3-(hexadeca-7,9,11-trien-1-yl)-4-hydroxy-5-methylidene-2,5-dihydrofuran-2-one.
