DescriptionMaplexin E belongs to the class of organic compounds known as galloyl esters. These are organic compounds that contain an ester derivative of 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid. (3s,4r,5s,6r)-4-hydroxy-5-(3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoyloxy)-6-[(3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoyloxy)methyl]oxan-3-yl 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate is found in Acer rubrum. (3s,4r,5s,6r)-4-hydroxy-5-(3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoyloxy)-6-[(3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoyloxy)methyl]oxan-3-yl 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate was first documented in 2012 (PMID: 22079755). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on maplexin E (PMID: 28348624).
