| Description | 6,9A-dimethyl-3-methylidene-2,9-dioxo-2H,3H,3aH,4H,5H,6H,6aH,9H,9aH,9bH-azuleno[4,5-b]furan-4-yl 2-methyloxirane-2-carboxylate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as ambrosanolides and secoambrosanolides. These are sesquiterpene lactones from the Ambrosia family, with a backbone derivative of azuleno[6,5-b]furan-2-one (ambrosanolides) or azuleno[4,5-b]furan-2-one (secoambrosanolides). 6,9a-dimethyl-3-methylidene-2,9-dioxo-3ah,4h,5h,6h,6ah,9bh-azuleno[4,5-b]furan-4-yl 2-methyloxirane-2-carboxylate is found in Parthenium hysterophorus. 6,9A-dimethyl-3-methylidene-2,9-dioxo-2H,3H,3aH,4H,5H,6H,6aH,9H,9aH,9bH-azuleno[4,5-b]furan-4-yl 2-methyloxirane-2-carboxylate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
