These are lysophosphatidic acids where the glycerol is esterified with a fatty acid at O-1 position. (2r)-2-hydroxy-3-[(5z,8z,11z,14z)-icosa-5,8,11,14-tetraenoyloxy]propoxyphosphonic acid is found in Trypanosoma brucei. 1-Arachidonoyl-sn-glycerol 3-phosphate is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. |
