Description6-{[3,4,5-Trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-2,6,7,7a-tetrahydro-1-benzofuran-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as o-glycosyl compounds. These are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a O-glycosidic bond. 6-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-7,7a-dihydro-6h-1-benzofuran-2-one is found in Glochidion zeylanicum and Phyllanthus urinaria. 6-{[3,4,5-Trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-2,6,7,7a-tetrahydro-1-benzofuran-2-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
