Naphthopyrans are compounds containing a pyran ring fused to a naphthalene moiety. Furan is a 6 membered-ring non-aromatic ring with five carbon and one oxygen atoms. Naphthalene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon made up of two fused benzene rings. methyl 2-[(2s,3r,5r,6r,10s,13s,14r,16s)-3-(acetyloxy)-6-(furan-3-yl)-14-hydroxy-1,5,15,15-tetramethyl-8,17-dioxo-7-oxatetracyclo[11.3.1.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰]heptadec-11-en-16-yl]acetate is found in Swietenia mahagoni. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on methyl 2-[(2S,3R,5R,6R,10S,13S,14R,16S)-3-(acetyloxy)-6-(furan-3-yl)-14-hydroxy-1,5,15,15-tetramethyl-8,17-dioxo-7-oxatetracyclo[11.3.1.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰]Heptadec-11-en-16-yl]acetate. |
