Description(2S)-2-{[(2R)-3,5-dihydroxy-2-{[(1S,4S,5R,8R,9R,13S,14R,17S,18R)-2-hydroxy-9-(hydroxymethyl)-4,5,9,13,20,20-hexamethyl-24-oxahexacyclo[15.5.2.0¹,¹⁸.0⁴,¹⁷.0⁵,¹⁴.0⁸,¹³]Tetracos-15-en-10-yl]oxy}-6-methyloxan-4-yl]oxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpene saponins. These are glycosylated derivatives of triterpene sapogenins. The sapogenin moiety backbone is usually based on the oleanane, ursane, taraxastane, bauerane, lanostane, lupeol, lupane, dammarane, cycloartane, friedelane, hopane, 9b,19-cyclo-lanostane, cycloartane, or cycloartanol skeleton. (2s)-2-{[(2r)-3,5-dihydroxy-2-{[(1s,4s,5r,8r,9r,13s,14r,17s,18r)-2-hydroxy-9-(hydroxymethyl)-4,5,9,13,20,20-hexamethyl-24-oxahexacyclo[15.5.2.0¹,¹⁸.0⁴,¹⁷.0⁵,¹⁴.0⁸,¹³]tetracos-15-en-10-yl]oxy}-6-methyloxan-4-yl]oxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4,5-triol is found in Buddleja japonica, Bupleurum chinense, Bupleurum falcatum, Bupleurum fruticescens, Bupleurum kaoi, Bupleurum kunmingense, Bupleurum polyclonum, Bupleurum rockii, Clinopodium chinense, Clinopodium gracile, Clinopodium micranthum, Scrophularia kakudensis and Verbascum sinaiticum.
