DescriptionRenardine, also known as neosenkirkine, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as macrolides and analogues. These are organic compounds containing a lactone ring of at least twelve members. (4z,11z)-4-ethylidene-7-hydroxy-6,7,14-trimethyl-2,9-dioxa-14-azabicyclo[9.5.1]heptadec-11-ene-3,8,17-trione is found in Jacobaea vulgaris. (4z,11z)-4-ethylidene-7-hydroxy-6,7,14-trimethyl-2,9-dioxa-14-azabicyclo[9.5.1]heptadec-11-ene-3,8,17-trione was first documented in 2002 (PMID: 12017530). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Renardine.
