DescriptionCleroindicin C belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzofurans. These are organic compounds containing a benzene ring fused to a furan. Furan is a five-membered aromatic ring with four carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. (3as,7as)-3a-hydroxy-hexahydro-1-benzofuran-6-one is found in Clerodendrum bungei and Clerodendrum indicum. (3as,7as)-3a-hydroxy-hexahydro-1-benzofuran-6-one was first documented in 2014 (PMID: 24383986). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Cleroindicin C.
