Catechols are compounds containing a 1,2-benzenediol moiety. 4,4-bis({6-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]-4-hydroxy-2-oxopyran-3-yl})butanoic acid is found in Phaeolus schweinitzii. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 4,4-bis({6-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]-4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2H-pyran-3-yl})butanoic acid.
