Phenylnaphthalenes are compounds containing a phenylnaphthalene skeleton, which consists of a naphthalene bound to a phenyl group. 1-(2,4-dihydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene-2,6-diol is found in Peltophorum africanum. 1-(2,4-Dihydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene-2,6-diol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
