| Description | Manzamine J belongs to the class of organic compounds known as harmala alkaloids. Harmala alkaloids are compounds with a structure based on harmaline, harmine, harmalol, harman or a derivative of those parents. These parents are beta-carbolines, consisting of a pyrimidine fused to the pyrrole moiety of an indole to form a pyrido[3,4-b]indole. (1r,2r,5z,13s,16z)-25-{9h-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-yl}-11,22-diazatetracyclo[11.11.2.1?,??.0?,??]heptacosa-5,16,25-trien-13-ol was first documented in 2004 (PMID: 15332848). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Manzamine J. |
