Description2-[(4,5-Dihydroxy-2-{[16-hydroxy-14-(2-hydroxy-6-methylhept-5-en-2-yl)-2,6,6,11-tetramethyltetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁵]Heptadecan-5-yl]oxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl)oxy]-4,6-bis(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,5-diol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. 5-{[3,5-dihydroxy-4,6-bis(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-6-{[11-hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxy-6-methylhept-5-en-2-yl)-3a,6,6,9a-tetramethyl-tetradecahydrocyclopenta[a]phenanthren-7-yl]oxy}-2-(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,4-diol is found in Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolius. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 2-[(4,5-dihydroxy-2-{[16-hydroxy-14-(2-hydroxy-6-methylhept-5-en-2-yl)-2,6,6,11-tetramethyltetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁵]Heptadecan-5-yl]oxy}-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl)oxy]-4,6-bis(hydroxymethyl)oxane-3,5-diol.
