Description7-{[3,4-Dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-5-methoxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-6-methoxy-4H-chromen-4-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-7-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C7-position. 7-{[3,4-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-5-methoxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-6-methoxychromen-4-one is found in Salvia fruticosa. 7-{[3,4-Dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-5-methoxyoxan-2-yl]oxy}-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-6-methoxy-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
