DescriptionMalvidin 3-O-rutinoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-3-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. 5-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-({[(1r,2r,3r,4s,5r)-2,3,4-trihydroxy-5-methylcyclohexyl]oxy}methyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}chromen-7-one is found in Ribes nigrum. Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on malvidin 3-O-rutinoside.
