These are isoflavanones featuring a C5-isoprenoid unit at the 3'-position. 3-[5-(3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl)-2,4-dihydroxyphenyl]-5,7-dihydroxy-6-(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-4-one is found in Sophora chrysophylla. 3-[5-(3,7-Dimethylocta-2,6-dien-1-yl)-2,4-dihydroxyphenyl]-5,7-dihydroxy-6-(3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
