These are amaryllidaceae alkaloids with a structure characterized a tetracyclic skeleton with two ortho aromatic protons in ring A. 9-hydroxy-4-methyl-11-oxa-4-azatetracyclo[8.6.1.0¹,¹².0⁶,¹⁷]heptadeca-6,8,10(17),15-tetraen-14-yl acetate is found in Crinum kirkii. 9-Hydroxy-4-methyl-11-oxa-4-azatetracyclo[8.6.1.0¹,¹².0⁶,¹⁷]Heptadeca-6(17),7,9,15-tetraen-14-yl acetate is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa).
