Description4-Oxo-4-phenylbutyric acid, also known as benzoylpropionic acid or 3-benzoylpropanoate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as alkyl-phenylketones. These are aromatic compounds containing a ketone substituted by one alkyl group, and a phenyl group. 4-oxo-4-phenylbutyric acid was first documented in 2005 (PMID: 15801772). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 4-oxo-4-phenylbutyric acid.
