DescriptionMajoroside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as o-glycosyl compounds. These are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a O-glycosidic bond. methyl (1s,6s)-6-hydroxy-7-methyl-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,4ah,5h,6h-cyclopenta[c]pyran-4-carboxylate is found in Plantago cornuti and Plantago major. methyl (1s,6s)-6-hydroxy-7-methyl-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,4ah,5h,6h-cyclopenta[c]pyran-4-carboxylate was first documented in 2010 (PMID: 20030409). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Majoroside (PMID: 25618720).
